For our client, we're looking for a Senior Scala Engineer to help build a high-performance distributed platform focused on scalability, ultra-low latency, and in-memory state management

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, working close to the infrastructure layer, and designing highly efficient distributed systems where performance is the top priority.

What you'll work on

• Designing custom horizontal scaling and sharding solutions

• Building distributed communication mechanisms between clusters

• Developing multi-datacenter replication and synchronization

• Creating high-performance infrastructure where every millisecond matters

• Writing performance benchmarks and continuously optimizing system efficiency

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Scala

• Excellent knowledge of Akka Actors

• Good understanding of Akka Cluster and Cluster Sharding

• Experience designing distributed systems

• Experience writing performance and benchmark tests

• Strong understanding of concurrency and asynchronous programming

• Ability to design highly optimized, low-latency solutions

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

• Apache Pekko

• Kafka

• JVM performance tuning

• Networking or distributed messaging systems
